Well the good news is Anne, the girls, a babysitter, and I are going on a 5 day cruise up the Malaysian Coast. On Thursday will be our tenth Wedding anniversery. Below is a short itinerary and a link to the cruise ship. The Virgo The concerning thing is that Amanda was up all night last night with a fever and crying because her stomach hurt. Anne was a trooper as she took the majority of the baby watch. Katie also woke stating that her ear hurt. Did I say we need a vacation? Speaking of Katie, she lost another tooth last night. She awoke very excited this morning as the tooth fairy drew a picture of herself as Katie requested in the morning. The tooth fairy is quite an artist!!! Well I am off to finish packing. Wish us luck. Here is a link for you get in the same mindset with us. Love, Exciting, and New Saturday, March 23, 2002

We were able to venture out to the night safari (night zoo) and really enjoyed a beautiful tropical evening. My favorite thing was seeing the baby elephant which is about 1 year old. The lions were really spectacular as well. We got to see the same bats which we have seen before but were not treated to any “shows” by any of the bats. My new cutter insect repellant which I bought in California worked great too! No bites to speak of which is a first as I have always been bit by several mosquitoes out at the zoo. We were also able to do lots of other things with Jack and Kay: Mama and Papa made lots of friends here at Fraser Suites and Papa loved conversing with all the local people. I ran into one of the staff today and he said he was so sorry he did not get to say good-bye to “Mr. Jack” as “Mr. Jack” was so special to him. (That was Sante…and I told him I would relay the message to you Jack). Also, it was great to have Jack and Kay here for David’s 35th b-day which we celebrated with him on March 9. Now it’s “back to normal” - at least for a few days. We actually receive the “keys” to our new place on Thursday. I tell people that Amanda will have a different sense of what a “key” is because so far everything here has been card-key security. So will our new place. Since we don’t have a car, she never gets to see a “real” key. Anyway, David does not arrive home from Germany until Saturday night. The furniture deliveries start Sunday and the moving company will come to Fraser Suites on Monday. Our first night in our new place will be next Tuesday. We are sad to leave Fraser Suites but do look forward to our new place complete with a nice pool, little outdoor playground, and lots more room! We will be minimally furnished at first, but will gradually add things as we need them. Other news is that Amanda served as a model for Fraser Suites as they are creating new marketing materials. She had a day of photos taken in various settings, wearing various outfits and posing with various staff from Fraser. It was really interesting to see the crew work and Amanda did a great job. The photographer was amazing – he was really able to capture some great photos. Among other things, we will receive a professional portfolio from the marketing company for Amanda’s work. Here is something a little humorous that happened: A lady at the pool asked me how I got Amanda "involved" in modeling and who her agent was. She proceeded to say that she wanted her baby to be a baby model. Her baby was asleep in the stroller – he looked to be about 6 months old. I just had to giggle. I think Amanda had enough “involvement” in the whole modeling thing for one lifetime.

Mama Kay and Papa Jack arrived in Singapore safely over a week ago. We were able to adjust very quickly to the time change after a 19 hour flight from San Francisco We were met by the girls with signs at the airport; it was so good to see them after being away since September. Little Amanda came to Mama Kay quickly but it took a few readings from Amanda's Barney books for Papa Jack to get the same attention. But now we are good pals and have been enjoying the play room and pool here at their residence hotel. This is some place with daily maid service, complimentary breakfast, shuttle service to shopping areas, to name a few. I don't want Mama Kay to get used to this type of living but I'm afraid it may be a little late. The maid service ladys are delightful and after a few days one went out an purchased an orchid flower arrangement. Prior to that Anne had placed in our room some beautiful yellow orchids. Well we have to go expand our culinary experience. We have had Chinese, Malay, Singaporean, Japanese, Italian, and American. We must add some Indian Curry. We will write another note after Sentosa and the Night Safari. Love,
